Budget caps....let's talk

it wouldnt surprise me, but if they are serious about this budget cap & someone has breached it then they need to make stand regardless otherwise we might as well get rid of it. if they do nothing against the 1st bit of opposition they have come again.

because teams would rightly think no point in abiding by the rules if there no punishment for breaching them.

Points deduction could be a very clever way at changing to the right result with it being on record that it’s a team rather than the FIA’s fault. Could they apply it to last year rather than this year?

Let's look at every single event that could have retrospectively changed the world championships results. Just a few examples, Schumacher ramming Hill in 94, Rosberg's fuel temperature issue in 2007, last years shit show, not one has changed a thing.

This will be no different.

While the current issue relates to spending over the 2021 campaign, with the FIA stating that compliance certificates will be issued next week, Wolff believes the implications are massive.

He says that if Red Bull overspent last year, it could carry benefits through this year and in to 2023.

“The crucial part is that if you've been over in 2021, then you've been over in ‘22,” he said. “That means you have an advantage in ‘23.

“If it's true that they've [Red Bull] homologated the lightweight chassis this year, they may use it next year. So it's a really a cascade of events that can be influential in all of the three championships.”

but this is weird 1 because on 1 hand it has to be retrospective because you cant have 10 live totalisers. that count up the budgets of every team. they get audited from what i understand the accounts have be delivered by March & then they get audited. obviously this has taken 5 months to get to that point. but then on the other hand it isnt retrospective because if thats the budget for that season. you break it for your own success. then you have to be punished. as im reading exclusion is only in the most draconian manner. but they could be punished by big cut in windtunnel time

as we know Schumacher incrediblely proven by what he said to a disbelieving ross brawn in jerez. believes hugely he was never at fault any of the controversial incidents

Difference here is those examples are egg on the face of the FIA. If Red Bull have breached as significantly as is being speculated, that’s them committing fraud which is taking the piss out of the FIA. Which as we know, only Ferrari are permitted to do.

All I'm saying is, it doesn't matter if Red Bull get found guilty of breaching the budget cap. The FIA will never, ever do anything to change the results of a season.

Until F1 teams stop being afraid (or allowing themselves to be bribed into doing nothing) about the FIA and actually take them to court over their corrupt decisions then nothing will ever change.

it would explain why Brundle was on sky sports news, saying that he expects a punishment to hit for 2023. where they could lose alot of WindTunnel time. so they cant develop in 2023

Here’s an idea, have each team use a bank account with £145m credit in it at the start of a year and watch in real time as the cash dwindles…..

enforcing financial rules a year or even two after the event is pointless. Another perfect example of how the FIA can make a travesty of the actual year of completion in which the breach of rules (financial, sporting etc) takes place.

Mrs Spice seems a touch uncomfortable in his latest interview, seems to suggest Toto started the rumours though Ted only said that Toto said it was an open secret.
