Had he been doing a race simulation he would have been 2.5s a lap quicker than the Renault and the FI.

No sorry he would have been 4 seconds a lap quicker.

Petrov's first flying lap is a 1:33.715 which would seem to suggest these tyres don't like sitting around doing nothing for very long. They are fairly fresh tyres and the last lap before the red flag was a 1:30.5...

That's really going to stuff up my comparison chart...

The Renault is looking very good purring around in the low 1:29s on his 3rd set of tyres. Significantly faster than the Force India of Paul di Resta.

Another pretty disastrous day for McLaren and even fewer laps completed for Williams! McLaren suffered from a Hydraulic leak in the morning and exhaust problems in the afternoon. Williams suffered from the KERS all day long.
