Thanks for the data Snowy.
Hmm, yes ... testing times can be meaningless (to us) but it depends on what we are looking for in the stat's. I find Snowy's postings really interesting because as the sessions unfold we can detect some patterns and indicators of relative performance. With regard to my query, what I'm interested in seeing is some data (as amply supplied by Snowy, by the way) that would give me a general idea of the relative development regarding the pace of the cars this year compared to last. Then as these final days of Winter testing pass I hope to combine that information with all the other data, hard facts and gossip, etc. to draw some inferences (perhaps even some conclusions) against which to test my expectations, theories and ideas (and indeed those of other contributors).
It goes without saying (well, on this most informed of forums, I hasten to say) that testing is a complex process where laps times to the outside observer are merely "indicative" of the progress or performance of car and driver. As we don't have access to the full gamut of the teams telemetry what else can we play with?
