Football All things Football

Seriously, after watching the Man City v Newcastle game, VAR needs to be totally binned.

There is no way that was a clear and obvious error. There is no way that without VAR that goal would have been declared offside. There is no way the keeper would have got to the ball regardless of where Harland was.

Absolute feed of chutney.

fully agree, i was listening to henry winter & he was mentioning that this is coming off the back of fa cup weekend, where we had absolutely no controversy & we have 1 league cup game & it kicks off

VAR creates controversy it doesnt solve it.

the Soumaré red card, you simply can’t do that in modern football. But it only highlights how poor the Dalot decision was earlier in the afternoon, which looked worse and somehow only resulted in a yellow in the manchester derby

but heres where my problems start. Charlton should also have been down to 10 men & conceded a penalty but nothing given (because it was too early) thenthe replays circulating on social media,

that is never a red card for Tanganga. He goes up for a header in a 50/50, doesn’t win it, and still gets sent off for non existent elbow. That’s sheer incompetence from the referee. If that’s what passes for consistency, no match would ever finish with 11 players.

The referee’s ego has completely killed any chance we had of getting something from the game today. i hope he gets food poisoning. & is sat on the toilet all night. its least that the incompetent egotistical idiot deserves

It’s especially frustrating because we should have been out of sight by the time of the 1st red card we were completely dominant.

end of 2nd half stoppage time in the AFCON final was 1 of the most absurd bits of football ive ever seen.

  • in 92nd min Senegal have goal disallowed harshly
  • in 96th min for Diaz buys a soft pen for morocco via VAR
  • then Senegal boss goes full 1998 steve Bruce, orders all his players off the pitch
  • Mane runs down the tunnel. to get the team out of the dressing room & back on the pitch
  • then in 23rd min of added time. 17 mins after it was awarded. penalty is finally taken
  • diaz too busy with self images misses with a pathetic panenka
i have never seen the like & im sort of with senegal. giving the hosts a soft penalty with almost the last kick 4 mins after there's was disallowed. i can see why they felt it was corrupt

i was finally watching the south coast derby yesterday after sky sports hid it very well. loved watching the 2nd half very physical match. nobody faking injuries

of course pleased Portsmouth got a equaliser & couldve won it in stoppage time

Shame about the fat idiot who ran on the pitch, and the two ball boys hurt by a flare. Some times football fans, and football clubs, do marvelous things. Other times the way they behave is mindless and odious.

We're falling apart.

Shipped a load of players out including our top goal scorer who was out of contract in the summer so they cashed in.

Going to be a long slog until May.
😢

this is very tough game tonight for the blades. as Middlesbrough have won their last 5 in row. but we won 6 & drawn 1 of our last 7 home games. only lost 1 of our last 10

should be a great match to watch for the neutral though

Coventry appear to be choking right now.

There's a three way battle for the top two spots and I can see about 8 teams fighting for 2 of the play off spots.

It's an odd season where you can be 5th one minute and 10th a week later.

yeah 2 wins for coventry i believe since boxing day & 1 of those was leicester & everyones beating Leicester. Middlesbrough will be up for it to go 2 points clear tonight. i think coventry will drop into the playoffs with ipswich taking 2nd

I can see about 8 teams fighting for 2 of the play off spots.
it's ridiculously tight. the mad part is despite our terrible season. where statistically & historically doomed. as they were saying back then that no team that had lost their 1st 6 or won only 1 of their 1st 10 had ever survived before. blades win tonight & we are only 5pts off.

You were massively under performing at the start of the season. An obvious false position given your quality.

Similar to how bad Norwich were.

It's incredible how much difference decent management has made and you've definitely capitalised on that.

Whatever happens this season, please dear lord don't let it be Wrexham.

LOL

it is wilder done miracles with this team

i liked a line from a utd fan. "everytime you think wrexham have hit their ceiling, they keep going higher", wrexham would be insufferable

thought we had a decent half. but we are seeing why boro will lift the championship title in may. by distance the best team in the league

if to nit pick for the 1st goal. tanganga going to close down boro player. left conway wide open
