Football All things Football

Seriously, after watching the Man City v Newcastle game, VAR needs to be totally binned.

There is no way that was a clear and obvious error. There is no way that without VAR that goal would have been declared offside. There is no way the keeper would have got to the ball regardless of where Harland was.

Absolute feed of chutney.

fully agree, i was listening to henry winter & he was mentioning that this is coming off the back of fa cup weekend, where we had absolutely no controversy & we have 1 league cup game & it kicks off

VAR creates controversy it doesnt solve it.

the Soumaré red card, you simply can’t do that in modern football. But it only highlights how poor the Dalot decision was earlier in the afternoon, which looked worse and somehow only resulted in a yellow in the manchester derby

but heres where my problems start. Charlton should also have been down to 10 men & conceded a penalty but nothing given (because it was too early) thenthe replays circulating on social media,

that is never a red card for Tanganga. He goes up for a header in a 50/50, doesn’t win it, and still gets sent off for non existent elbow. That’s sheer incompetence from the referee. If that’s what passes for consistency, no match would ever finish with 11 players.

The referee’s ego has completely killed any chance we had of getting something from the game today. i hope he gets food poisoning. & is sat on the toilet all night. its least that the incompetent egotistical idiot deserves

It’s especially frustrating because we should have been out of sight by the time of the 1st red card we were completely dominant.

end of 2nd half stoppage time in the AFCON final was 1 of the most absurd bits of football ive ever seen.

  • in 92nd min Senegal have goal disallowed harshly
  • in 96th min for Diaz buys a soft pen for morocco via VAR
  • then Senegal boss goes full 1998 steve Bruce, orders all his players off the pitch
  • Mane runs down the tunnel. to get the team out of the dressing room & back on the pitch
  • then in 23rd min of added time. 17 mins after it was awarded. penalty is finally taken
  • diaz too busy with self images misses with a pathetic panenka
i have never seen the like & im sort of with senegal. giving the hosts a soft penalty with almost the last kick 4 mins after there's was disallowed. i can see why they felt it was corrupt

i was finally watching the south coast derby yesterday after sky sports hid it very well. loved watching the 2nd half very physical match. nobody faking injuries

of course pleased Portsmouth got a equaliser & couldve won it in stoppage time
