Formel 1: Absage für Mercedes - Renault gibt Hülkenberg nicht frei

Hulkenberg

Nico for Nico? Hülkenberg had a Mercedes offer
Mercedes did not have much time to find a suitable successor for the newly resigned world champion Nico Rosberg. ABMS learned: A high Renault team member already received a call (probably from Mercedes Teamchef Toto Wolff) at 1.30 pm today (30 minutes before Rosberg's official resignation statement). Purpose of the inquiry: Whether it is possible to buy Nico Hülkenberg from the Renault contract. The question was immediately denied by Renault. Background: A few weeks ago, Hülkenberg signed a three-year contract with the French factory.

ABMS also continued: Mercedes-F1 boss Niki Lauda, so ABMS was added, would put his money on Pascal if he would put on a Rosberg successor.

FB Question do you think Toto has had guidance from his paymasters who should have been Rosberg's replacement seing Hulkenberg only recently signed a contract with Renault?

i know max verstappen turned this whole thing on its head, because you cant presume with young drivers i said Max needed yr in GP2, Smashed F1, needs a another learning yr in toro rosso & goes on to exceed all expectations. same with Ocon at Manor matching/ beating Wehrlien with 1/2 season more experience. so Wehrlein could go in like Hamilton in 2007

but i wonder if Toto is wanting replace world champion with a world champion, because they are a bit obsessed with the constructors. i know as ive said before i know bernie if he has got anything influence does a driver of that stature as Alonso & Hamilton could be fireworks & no disrespect to Mclaren or Mercedes Junior drivers that you think should be a shoo in but Alonso race craft has been wasted in the uncompetitive midfield

Yeah but you know what happens to cats when they reach a certain age... They undergo that period when they suddenly start re-enacting their crazy kitten stage and go mental and ruin the stuffing inside your armchair snd go totally beserk again. :dizzy:

I can simply because he is the cheapest option because Mercedes canl't get the top drivers without paying a hefty clause fee
plus he knows the boys at BRackley and he has raced Hamilton before and kept him honest

If they put Wehrlein who is making desperate noises he is ready to step or Ocon then there could be problems especially if Hamilton decides to destroy them which he will on the race track
