2012 FOTA World Championship

If we really want to stand out, maybe a one-lap race around a medium-sized European country.

Take the AustriaRing

It would bring the whole country to a standstill. Because we'd shut the roads!

Better still, leave the roads open. Can't argue with the 'best driver in the world' tag if they have to negotiate traffic as well as 23 other F1 cars. Imagine the drama :

Brundle : And Hamilton is up the inside of Webber! He's really going for it!

Coulthard : No! he'll have to go the long way round now that that Ford Focus estate has pulled out of that side road onto the main road.

As we seem to be going down the local street circuit route I have to suggest the Leeds Inner Ring Road. It's wide enough for F1 cars and at 6.7 miles long its nice and twisty like the N'Ring!

In all seriousness, I suppose you could have a calendar like this:

South Africa- Kyalami
Argentina- Buenos Aries
Brazil- Jacarepagua
Turkey- Istanbul Park
Belgium- Zolder
Canada- Mosport
USA- Laguna Seca
France- Is Dijon still knocking around? If not, a Parisian street circuit.
Britain- Brands Hatch
Germany- Oschesleben
Austria- If it is possible to ressurrect the old Osterreichring
Holland- Zandvoort
Italy- Imola
Portugal- Estoril
Spain- Jerez
Japan- Motegi
Australia-Adelaide

Is this going to happen? No, but its fun figuring it out!

And that covers the bits of Europe that most people don't give a stuff about, I think :D
