But yes, with Fabregas and Nasri gone they've lost a lot of creative talent and flair and they don't have a solid defensive backbone to fall back on so I do think it's going to be a tough season for Arsenal. Also, maybe this goes with the young players, but the Wenger teams of recent years seem to lack discipline, particularly when things aren't going their way. They've had a player sent off every game so far...
When Joey Barton is available on a free and you don't sign him
If someone payed you £50m to sign Barton, you should not.
He spent 12m on Chamberlain (who) and Walcott (who), so Wenger does know how to waste money.
When Joey Barton is available on a free and you don't sign him, just because he has thwarted you before on the pitch, thats his pride and it will be his fall. They have Sicknote V Persie and Rosicky manning the ship at the moment, when they get injured who we going to see.

Wenger's policy in the late 1990's- make big signings, but add young talents as well- seems to have fallen apart. Wenger isn't bringing players like Henry, PIRES Kanu and Overmars anymore, but he ain't unearthing gems like Anelka or Ljungberg these days either. I never thought I'd say this (as an embittered Leeds fan), but I feel pretty sorry for the situation Arsenal are in at the moment. We like Arsenal are selling quality (Gradel), and keeping donkeys (I'm trying to compare Billy 'goalshy' Painter and Niklas 'clubfoot' Bentdner here)
He may now be the top man at Pirelli's motorsport section – charged with supplying the tyres for all the F1 cars in the paddock – but he hasn't forgotten his North Somerset roots, or his passion for Bristol City.
"I was raised in Cleeve, and went to Backwell Comprehensive School," the 45-year-old says. "I'm old enough to remember when Bristol City were in the top flight, beating teams like Liverpool. But that all seems a long time ago now.
"I still get to as many games as I can at Ashton Gate," he adds. "But it's not easy to get home these days, because my F1 commitments mean a lot of world travel.
"My main base is now Milan, but I have a holiday home in Cheltenham – so that makes it easier to get back to Bristol whenever I can.

The divorced father-of-three had already carved out a glamorous lifestyle for himself, as head of Pirelli Motorsport in Milan, but he admits his life stepped up a gear after he managed to talk Bernie Ecclestone into bringing Pirelli into Formula One.
