Almost tempted to go for the double header and give it to Alonso for a brilliantly entertaining performance. It's going to have to be Webber though, he was absolutely imperious for the whole race and a fraction behind his team mate in qualy even without his front wing. Both Mclaren drivers did a great job of damage limitation but I think Webber always had more than enough in the bag to keep Lewis behind him. Plus he gave us one of the best post race lines for a long time.

I have to give it to Benson for his recovery drive after an awful Quali session. He was fast when he needed to be and he made his overtakes stick.

For me Mebber had the pace to run at the front all day and was cruising. Lewiton did the hard work in Q2 and Q3. The race was just a case of lapping behind Mebber and ahead of Nosberg. Vettel, I maintain was unlucky. The aero parts are supposed to be designed so that they don't cause punctures. His was then a great recovery drive (admittedly aided by the SC).

Kudos to Barrichello and Kobayashi. Their teams must be pleased with them!

Webber for me, and probably from the last hour before qualifying there was only going to be one winner of this race. A superb, controlled-anger performance.

Barrichello seems to have been forgotten.

He qualified great in an underpowered Williams, Held his own for the race and brought home some valuable points and to top it all off he got the fastest time on the Top Gear test track in the Liana.

I don't think there is driver who has had a better weekend than him!

Brogan, you got a DotW table as well?
I certainly do :)

Again these figures were compiled a few days ago so they may not tally exactly.

I've unlocked all the DotW threads so those who didn't vote first time around can now do so.

Here they all are:

At the end of the season we'll tally up all the races and see what's what.

Well also do some season polls for drivers and teams.

At least that saves me having to put a separate thread up for those then.

Means I can now concentrate on my latest war and peace article. LOL

I should have waited :D

I think a summary thread with all the links and the "standings" might be in order so I'll sort that out at some point.

Tough call, as in another post I'd say one of four, Hamilton, Massa, Barrichello and Kubica.

Massa was just so smooth and so fast, after his puncture (courtesy Alonso pushing past) he seemed to be the fastest car on the track and watching him catching and passing the tail enders was superb;

Barrichello was smooth as silk, excellent corner speeds, perfect consistent positioning;

Kubica was frighteningly fast in to corners, lost a little more speed than others some times, but superb pushing;

But Hamilton, in the race every time round Copse he was right on the limit, minor tank slappers every time, there was no way he should have been anywhere near Webber, the car just couldn't do it - How he kept pressing for so long and stayed on the track is a mystery, so my vote all the way.

Perhaps I'm a bit late in finding this thread. Apologies.

My vote goes with Hamilton for two reasons:
*1. His qualifying performance in that car was quite something, especially when one bears in mind that he (and Button) had no proper set up time with the configuration they used (after abandoning their failed 'blown diffuser').
*2. To challenge Webber on the first few laps required an effort which is little short of super-human, and he stuck with him for most of the race. Quite astonishing, given the 9.5mph difference between their cars in the bits that really matter at Silverstone.

To put that in perspective, going 'flat' through Becketts gives a gigantic speed advantage; here Hamilton was having to change down a gear - allowing a higher speed for more than a third of the lap, carrying through all the way down the Hangar straight! And what he was doing to hang on through Copse was beyond mere mortals.

Being able to stay in touch with such a performance deficit is almost unheard of. 10 out of 10 to Hamilton for this amazing feat.

I also have to give my vote to Lewis, after a terrible Friday, he did extremely well to qualify where he did, and finish even higher. A major save for McLaren.

For me, after Vettel was out the picture, Webber race was easy and for him to loose.
Rubens deserves a mention as well :)

Lewis for me. Great job in a car that wasnt up to the job.

The race was webbers to lose, though i almost gave it to him when i considered what happened, but Lewis put in a real performance on sunday. Well impressed.

Too many stellar drives to pick just one but I have and through gritted teeth I've gone for Vettel........ to be almost a lap down and to drive 51 laps on the same set of boots it was quite impressive for him to storm back up to 7th (admittedly with a bit of bumper cars) and I know the he greatly benefited from the safety car he still had to pass 15 or so cars to get some valuable points.

Balls to that, I must have been drunk, having watched it again it has to be Lewis doesn't it really. I can't really add to what's be said before.

Hey, I'm allowed to be indecisive.

I've voted for Kobi for finishing 6th in a car with an identity crisis. Much better than his team mate and 6 places ahead of the next nearest Ferrari engined car...which of course was Buemi in the Toro Rosso rofl
