Uh Oh, You're an embarassment!

We've often said that Honda handed Brawn a winning car. What we must remember though is that the engine was a Mercedes and the key chassis ingrediant was Ross's double diffuser. It's interesting to speculate that without one, the other or both, if Honda had remained in the sport it would still have been another poor season.

Not his idea, it was in fact it was a Super Aguri employee, and they closed down mid-way before the 2008 season.

I'm not sure how many ideas that go on the cars were actually conceived by the lead designer. Probably some, but with so many people working for them the lead designer is probably more in charge of the overall design philosophy of the car, and choosing what is going to be used and how it fits together.

Ross Brawn may not have come up the idea of the double diffuser, but he was smart enough to give it the green light to be incorporated into the car's design.

Oh Mclaren embarrassment .. they've been here before with the various debacles they have like the Mclaren Mercedes with a mid wing that was too narrow for Mansell who quit after 2 races and really was only signed to please Marlboro

- 2004 Antelope nose Mclaren which did not last 5 laps and it was bought out early because they did not risk racing 2003 Mclaren which did not pass safety test and had reliability concern so stuck with 2002 Mclaren and it probably cost them the title

-----------

As for Honda - 2008 Ross BRawn was getting the team sorted and he had the belief it was a great car with a very effective KERS. The Brawn had to be re-designed to make way for the bigger Merc engine and the gearbox moved

---------

As for Mclaren Honda .. Ron wanted this partnership and will stick with it ... there are no suitable engine partners for Mclaren unless BMW want to make a return but I dont see it. They have a 10 year deal and that was what attracted Alonso to the team expecting to deliver in 3 years

If Mclaren want to split with HOnda then Red Bull do not have to travel far to knock on Honda's door and ask for engines as they operating in Milton Keynes where Red Bull's factory is

Titch

Red Bull aint exactly treating Renault with any respect at the moment and French people have a tendency to strike / simply won't work with you if they feel they are being insulted

Honda got it right in the 80's with turbo and I can only see them improving
