Susie Wolff

Susie Wolff born 6 December 1982 in Oban is a British racing driver from Scotland. She has progressed through the ranks of motorsport, starting off in karting, then moving up to Formula Renault and Formula Three before moving to the DTM to compete for Mercedes-Benz since 2006. In 2012 she was signed by the Williams Formula One team to work as a development driver and she is still in that role.
She lives in Ermatingen, Switzerland with her husband Toto Wolff, since January 21, 2013, executive director of the Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula One Team. The two were married in October 2011.

Susie is aiming to be the first ever woman since 1976 and Lella Lombardi to race in F1.

She has her own TV program on Sunday 24.3.2013 BBC2 8pm : Driven: The Fastest Women in the World.

Her race record is none to impressive at zero wins, and you would have to say she would not deserve a drive based on that alone. However it is way beyond time that a woman driver should be in F1 and if Susie can open that door which has been closed since 1976 then I say good luck to her and I hope she gets a drive in a decent car.

Having failed to get enough money to compete in GP3 this season Alice is racing in the UK "F3 Cup" series. She is leading that on 121 points having secured two wins and she's also got a Fastest Lap Trophy from each of the two rounds so far (held in April at Oulton Pk and Silverstone).

Edit: gethinceri got in there before me!

So that's how they judge all female drivers is it? Shame on you BBC not that you're not already an extremely shameful corporation as it is....

I sometimes watch the Ginetta 50 racing and I love seeing the girls stomping the boys

Wasn't the best article was it, it was the first I layed my hands on to show who she was. The first time i heard of her was from Red Bull themselves. They said they'd considered Danica but rejected the idea and that this girl was there entirely on merit.
I hope It works out for her.

Ps. I like watching the Ginetta too :)

I though Susie did very well today in testing. Judging by some of the opinion above, you would of thought that she would be dead last and 10 seconds slower than anyone else. But no, making the very slow Williams look like its on par with a Mclaren today.

Well done girl, point proved I feel.

I'm sorry but a time at a test with only other rookies and no idea of parts, plans and fuel loads doesn't show anything so mark me in the cynical camp.

Magnursen and Da Costa topped the time sheets as did Ricciardo in a Toro Rosso but no ones trying to use it as evidence that they'd go straight in and win GPs.

Much as I would like to see a female F1 driver, I don't think Susie's 'performance' is anything special.

If she should join the illustrious, she would only ever be 'best of the rest' and at her age, that is not good enough!
