With the news that Ron Dennis has finally cut all ties with the McLaren F1 team, I thought it would be nice to list some of the achievements with him at the helm.
Love him or loathe him there's no denying he has been one of the most successful F1 team bosses of all time.

Constructors' Titles: 7 (1984, 1985, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1991, 1998)
Drivers' Titles: 10 (1984, 1985, 1986, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1991, 1998, 1999, 2008)
World Champion Drivers: Emerson Fittipaldi, Lewis Hamilton, James Hunt, Mika Häkkinen, Niki Lauda, Alain Prost, Ayrton Senna
Grand Prix Wins: 162

It's a shame that he will more than likely be remembered for the events in 2007 rather than what he has achieved in over 40 years in F1.

Cheers for the racing Ron

hear hear

ron dennis has been part of some great developments and some great achievements. too bad his last years were not the most quiet ones. but one of the true greats of F1 motor sport.

Since the Whitmarsh régime cannot last whilst Dennis is at McLaren, and since Max Moseley didn't like Ron [sub](and that is the greatest crime in F1 these days)[/sub], a sacrificial lamb must be thrown on to the altar.

Either way, this was a man of utmost efficiency and he made McLaren great, so great that we forget they were once privateers! The bloke's a legend, he bowed out when he'd brought a kid from the youth system to be World Champion and it is a pity it had to end this way. His epitaph would read differently if he'd retired in 1999 when Hakkinen had won his last Championship.
