NASCAR does F1

I dont think they have the ability. NASCAR isnt F1. Heck, Indy cars arent F1. Can you imagine any NASCAR driver winning in F1? Remember Scott Speed? Howd that work out?
.
A very poor example to support your argument Shogun. Scott Speed hasn't exactly set the world alight in NASCAR either.

The question still is though why would Dancia want to come into F1 to be critisied for and scruiternised as a woman and an American? If it balanced out with a chance to win races then maybe but to go through all.of that to run round at the back? I think Miss Patrick will stay where she is.
How would that be any different than what she faces in NASCAR? Theres A LOT of people that think she has no talent and no business behind the wheel of a race car.

Shogun ...... A bit like some of your other postings. The video you posted is another example. Have you not heard of fake voice-overs. There are about three from Tony Stewart on that recording. She drives for Tony and he thinks the world of her and rates her abilities very highly. I watch NASCAR every week and most that view that video know it's phoney.

Marussia were suppose to merge with Sauber for 2014 and didn't so I'm a bit sceptical of constant reports of their demise. It seems a massive coincidence that they are Bernies least favourite team and these reports keep coming out.

Clearly you and I arent going to be able to come to agreement on this subject. :D You keep saying how much Stewart praises Danica. At the end of the day, he is part team owner, so she is his employee and she is a huge money-maker for him. Do you really think he's going to admit that she cant drive?

Danica will never come anywhere near an F1 car so there's no point discussing it really. That ship has sailed, if there ever was a ship to begin with.

If this Haas team tries to make the 2015 grid they'll embarrass themselves. Unless they take over another team, which isn't out of the realms of possibility I hear.

I wouldnt be at all surprised to see Caterham throw in the towel either. Their owner did say in the past that if their performance didnt improve and if they werent competitive that he would see no reason to continue.

Keke

I don't see how taking over a team that is the absolute dregs of the field would be better than starting from scratch.

siffert_fan while inheriting crap parts isn't exactly an ideal situation, its much easier than trying to build them all from scratch. Instead of worrying about having to design every single component of a racecar to make it work, you just have to take one that already works and make it work better.

I'm not sure that you can say that the Marussia "works" considering how far behind the Mercs it is. Taking over a low-tier car also saddles you with what may be a dead-end technical theory which doesn't work or have development potential. I think it is better to start with a theory you know intimately than to try to understand one from a total stranger.

siffert_fan http://willthef1journo.wordpress.com/2014/01/17/new-teams-and-customer-cars/ this is what Will Buxton had to say, and while yes I somewhat agree, I somewhat don't. It all depends on the car, and whether it presents a good basis to work with. I have a feeling the Marussia presents this as I don't think its built on dead-end technical theory but rather is simply not technically advanced enough to really compete. Some cars may be so hard to work with and improve that it would be easier to build one from scratch, but I don't think the Marussia is such a car.

That ship has sailed, if there ever was a ship to begin with.

32 years old with a career comprising 1 race win and no championships ... er ... yes, sorry Danica (and I would say this if you were a bloke), but no. If she was held back or inhibited by someone it's a case of the RMS Lusitania, otherwise it's RMS Titanic. Sailed and sunk, I'm afraid.

He was partnered with Carl Haas with their Newman-Haas Indycar and Champ Car World Series teams. Famous over here in Blighty because of our man Nigel taking the 1993 Champ car title. Sometime last summer I tried to determine of this Haas is related to Carl and failed. Perhaps one of our state-side members can shine a light on this.
