I have messed around with standings tables in the past, and have seen many other examples as well, especially here at CTA, and the thing that is always striking is how infrequently there is a change to the Championship winner. In Formula One the best car/driver combo usually prevails.
It's always fun to play with different scoring methods though, F1 sure has tinkered with its scoring systems over the years.
It is intriguing how they don't change frequently as Keke mentions...they should just should have stuck with the 10-6-4-3-2-1 system or the 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1
you can merge this thread in if you like FB as I didn't know you were already working on the same system - seems great minds and Pre-war scoring systems think alike!
