Current Lewis Hamilton

A place to put all the posts from all the other threads primarily but love him or hate him, and even for the indifferent amongst us this is the place to discuss the marmite that is Lewis Hamilton, to learn a thing or two about his rise, talk about those controversial, genius or mad moments and something that i am bemused by, the recent articles that suggest something quite different to my perception of what's going on. Any experiences of meeting LH?

Brundle had to write a Lewis Hamilton article recently and in my tweets (which were probably ignored) I asked him to talk about LH the driver not LH the personality. It seems that you can't have one without the other.

So as a starter for ten, here is a fairly recent LH article. Posts should not be limited to this link but it can get some discussion going. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/formula_one/13755883.stm

The only banned topic as it is clearly ridiculous involves these four things "Glock" "2008" "Brazil" "conspiracy"

^^ Valid points!!

Here's something that hasn't been mentioned...

When Lewis crashed head on into the Armco at Les Combes he separated the metal and, according to him, was out for a number of seconds.

Being out after such a hard shunt isn't insignificant...and he felt the pain of it days later.

Perhaps it was this, and not all the criticism, which made him tepid at Monza?

Perhaps his brain fade on the Safety Car in lap was a result of that accident where he was out for 10 seconds?

But i'm sure someone here will ridicule me for bringing it up.

Go ahead...I'm expecting the Apologists to say "i'm wrong" (when it's merely a set of two questions.)

I have a spare fishing rod if yours is broken?

Sorry mods. Downtime.

So his accident 2 weeks ago damaged some brain cells located in the region that governs fear (made him tepid) as well as the region that governs concentration?

So he simultaneously damaged his temporal and frontal lobes?

But did not damage the parietal and Occipital lobes or Basal Ganglia? These ones govern visual abilities and the Initiation and direction of voluntary movement, Balance (inhibitory) and Postural reflexes.

As he didn't have a problem getting to the front row in Quali I am sure you will agree that these functions were not affected?

Brain fade is a big word

It's becoming obvious that any mention now of the restart and this thread just desends into a slagging match, We've all expressed our opinions about the subject so subject closed. Any further posts on the subject will be deleted

Relax, I was asking a question or two. I mentioned Lewis' very hard head-on shunt where he was out cold for, according to him, 10 odd seconds.

You don't need to run me down, you know.

Guess what?

I just won't bother posting in his thread anymore if that's what you want...

I am just trying to get to the heart of your interesting proposition

Perhaps his brain fade on the Safety Car in lap was a result of that accident where he was out for 10 seconds?

We need to understand the word brain fade a bit better, and define its cause and effects to consider this theory you have uniquely brought to the table. How does one acquire this brain fade?

Are we allowed to post Vettel's version of the re-start in Vettel's thread or are we not allowed to do that either.

What if I said - in the Vettel thread - that Vettel was very lucky on the restart to keep his 2nd place because the guy behind failed to stay on top of him and failed to line him up and take advantage of a slipstream that might have displaced him - Vettel - from 2nd.

What if I said - in the Vettel thread - that Vettel was the shortest geared of all the cars (including Webber's RBR) and was the slowest through the speed trap of any car at Monza and, thus, was vulnerable to being slipstreamed down the straight on the restart?

Are we allowed to say that, or are we prohibited from legitimate debate in the World Champion's own thread?

Ray, I think everyone is a bit sick of the subject by now.

I was wondering why he didn't move. Thanks. Must have been an even harder crash than it looked like if the metal got separated!

You're never going faster at Spa than you are at the end of the long Kemmel straight...So what speed do you think Lewis crashed at into the Armco?

It was also a virtual head on crash.

He also admitted he was out cold for about 10 seconds. You saw how he was motionless for a while from the onboard shot.

They also debated on tv about whether they should Red Flag the race in order to repair the separation of the Armco at the point of contact because it would be extremely horrific if another driver went off into the barrier at the same point of contact.

I've already asked you to stop using that term.

You also had an official warning yesterday from FB.

This is in addition to all the other times you've been spoken to.

You're on your last chance now.
One more and you're out.

Don't say you weren't warned.

"I'm glad I finished the race," added Hamilton.I showed people I can drive cleanly and not get into trouble even if the guy in front makes it very difficult for me.I got by eventually and made it stick, so it was good."

"Where I finish in the championship does matter to me, but it is the way it is. There's not much I can do about it at the moment," said Hamilton.

After initially stating second in the championship was now another target, Hamilton then quickly changed his mind.
"No, no. First is always the target, and then you take whatever you can when it becomes impossible, and it's still not impossible," he added.

Lewis Hamilton admits that he opted not to criticise Michael Schumacher after the Italian GP because he thought it would be better not to court controversy by voicing a negative opinion.

“I was disappointed that I couldn’t do better in the race,” he said when asked by this blog if he had stayed quiet tried to avoid trouble. “I just kept my mouth shut. It’s done me a lot of good, I’ve been relaxed for the last couple of weeks, I haven’t had too many problems!”

Pressed on whether that was now a deliberate policy, Lewis added: “You [the media] are constantly asking me what lessons I’ve learned, and that was one lesson I was able to apply that day.

So, in other words, yes I was pissed off, kept my gob shut but now I've let it run away with me again and you all know the truth. Why does he get drawn? Is it naivety or stupidity? If he didn't want to comment then don't comment at all, don't leave it until nearly 2 weeks after the event and then get drawn back in a few days before the next Grand Prix. He undone anything positive from keeping sthum after Italy.
