There are many definitions of perfection so it must be stressed the context in which it is used. If definition number 3 is used - "exactly fitting the need in a certain situation or for a certain purpose" - then you could say that there is a perfect lap. Criteria such as being able to hit every apex, change gears 'perfectly', press the accelerator at precisely the right time, brake at the exact point that will allow the maximum entry/exit speed, etc. Only the driver would know if he (or she!) had fulfilled all these points that extracted the absolute maximum from the machinery that it would be pointless to replicate it (such as the Schumi example above).
