How Good is Sebastian Vettel?

True - you two, however why isn't Mark Webber up they fighting for the title? Vettel is top class or should I say top draw. He's now very much on par with Alonso and Hamilton in terms of talent. He's not the new Schumacher or little Schumacher, Vettel should be remembered in his own right!

I think if Alonso or Hamilton were at Red Bull over the last three years then either Alonso would be heading for his 5th or Hamilton for his 4th. I'm not sure how Vettel would have fared the last three years without Red Bull. Much of motor racing is a lot about confidence and self belief and there is nothing like great equipment to give you that. It is a snowball effect and the more you win, the more you believe and the better you get. To be in the position expecting to be able to win going into each race is extremely powerful. Everything is in Vettel's lap at the moment. He clearly has the talent (whilst I do not think he is the best) and he also has the equipment and the momentum and everything else that comes with it.

But we'd still get the same argument over the same thing if Alonso or Hamilton were in the RB car, people would be saying it's the car.

I think people are to quick when it come's to Vettel by jumping on the IT'S THE CAR BANDWAGON, I know I did for a while. But now I see beyond that and see Vettel as the World Class star he is. Just like Hamilton and Alonso all three are in a class of their own.

It's both HammydiRestarules

As we've seen with Webber, it's not just the car. It takes a star driver to exploit it.

However, without a car capable of winning championships, Vettel would be another nearly man.
As good as he is, if he was in a Ferrari or McLaren this year, he would be in a similar situation to Alonso or Hamilton, assuming they were in his Red Bull seat.

But I believe it's the car and Vettel and I don't believe that the car and Vettel would be any better a combination than the car and Alonso or the car and Hamilton. Given Hamilton's qualities in qualifying I would say that the car and Hamilton would probably be the strongest combination.

[Edit] Broken kind of got there first with similar sentiments.

The best thing for Vettel to do is go to somewhere like Ferrari and silence his critics by turning them into a championship winning team. But my feelings over Vettel's performance's recent have changed and even though I aren't a fan of the guy I do think he's up there with the other top 2.

But regardless of the fact that my previous post was written ONLY in order to stir the pot Vettel has only won in Newey designed cars hasn't he Boyle?
And?

Mika Hakkinen only won in Newey designed cars... (or at least Newey inspired cars)... I don't see the level of venom poured out over Hakkinen as over Vettel..... Personally, I can't see the difference- other than that Vettel is more successful!

Just think of it as "the perfect storm"; right driver, right team, right time.

Vettel undoubtedly has the skill.
His team mate is a good supporting driver but is in no danger of taking points off Vettel on most days.
The Red Bull car is currently the class of the field in terms of performance, speed and reliability.
Then there's Newey who needs no explanation.
The pit crew make very few mistakes.
Red Bull have the financial resources and aren't afraid to use them, even dropping out of FOTA so they can take full advantage.
Finally there's Horner who isn't afraid to push the boundaries and seemingly is able to convince the stewards that black is white, on occasion.

Lastly, their main rivals have been unable to match them in a lot of the areas above, for one reason or another.

It's no surprise therefore that they are on for the triple double this weekend.

The Constructors title will be settled tonight. Even with a Red Bull double DNF, I cannot see Ferrari getting the 1-2 or 1-3 they need.
