Current Haas

From the start of the 2016 season we will be able to welcome the Haas F1 Team into the F1 fold. They have just announced one of their drivers in a live stream on their website a really good signing with the talent that is Roman Grosjean. No word of the second driver as yet.

Stewart Haas Racing in NASCAR already stands the team in good stead to getting off to a flying start. These guys know how to race. In turn they also have one of the best wind tunnels in the world and CNC factories at their beck and call as part of the Haas empire.

They seem to think they can hit the ground running and score points in their first season.

I say good luck to them.

Confirmed last year that Ferrari will supply engines , parts and engineers and probably a reserve driver as well as access to their windtunnel ... and a seat in the main team in the future

They were, they probably aren't now?

Manor, Haas, and possibly Toro Rosso would be beneficial contracts for Ferrari - engines sold, test drivers given seats, and no huge risk to Ferrari's shot at the WCC.

An engine partnership with Red Bull probably wouldn't be beneficial. Unless Red Bull were willing to pay way over market and make a lot of concessions, I can't see Ferrari giving Red Bull a deal both sides can agree on.

Gene Haas interview on sky just confirmed they will announce their second driver on Friday at Mexico. He said you can probably figure out why. So that Perez then. Haas seems like a nice chap. Very straight forward.

Johnny Carwash YES thats right Force india confirmed Perez a whilst back didn't they.
God dam it. I think I am still in denial that Gutierrez could possibly get another chance in F1. He made pastor look good.

While I am also less than enthused about Gutierrez, I believe Haas will certainly be on for a standout debut season.

They should be about as prepared as any team that has entered the sport recently and while I'm no big supporter, Grosjean should be serviceable for 2016.

I'll be eager to see those lap times come pre-season testing!

Their budget and number of personnel are both comparable to Manor, so I'm not expecting any heroics. They might beat Manor by virtue of Grosjean being a much better driver than whichever pay drivers Manor employs will be, and if Sauber completely drop the ball then Grosjean could have a run at Ericsson too I suppose. But I wouldn't be surprised to see them finish last with zero points, especially since Gutierrez is driving one of their cars.
