A list of all fastest laps achieved during the race for all F1 World Championship races held at the Nürburgring.

The Nürburgring has been part of the championship since 1951 hosting the German, European and Luxembourg Grands Prix.

The original Nürburgring was in excess of 22 km so the lap times pre- and post-1976 aren't comparable.

Circuit changes can be seen here: http://theracingline.net/racingcircuits/racingcircuits/Germany/index.html

The above has always impressed me a lot. Bear in mind that pole position for the 1957 GP was
9m 25.6s set by Fangio. His fastest race lap was 8.2s faster.

This was the race where he suffered a long pit stop but then chased and passed both Hawthorn and
Collins to take his final F1 win.

Indeed.

I remember when I was researching for the database and discovered that he broke the lap record 9 times in 10 laps with 7 of the records occurring on successive laps.
