CTA Race of the Year 2015

After a couple of good races 2015 returned back to its normal self at Spa with another uneventful race, this time scoring 5.5 to put Belgium in equal 5th with China. To help cheer you up I've included a graph along with the usual table...

5.4 for the Hamilton dominated Italian grand prix, which was a disaster for Rosberg. I genuinely can't remember anything else that happened.

Were Austria, Australia, China, Monaco and Spain really all worse that Italy?!?! Blimey.

Second time this season that we've had four races in a row rated below 6 out of 10. Can Russia break the trend?

We really need a boost don't we last 4 races 5.5, 5.4, 5.3, 5.0 oh dear. Thing is I'm far from optimistic about Sochi. Everything crossed it can deliver a decent race. But my money is on USA and Mexico for pumping up the excitement.

Russia saves us from having more than 4 races in a row rated below 6 out of 10 this season. 6.4 is enough for 5th best race of the season so far!

USA equals the previous CTA best of 9.3 out of 10 at Hungary 2014! Can always count on a bit of rain to spice things up!

Abu Dhabi came in at a lowly (and pretty harsh I think) 4.5 out of 10. So the USA is crowned best race of the year for 2015! Hungary came oh so close to getting a hat trick of victories but an eventful wet weekend in USA came out of the blue in what was overall a very dull season. Average race score for the year was 5.9 out of 10 - the worst full season rated by CTA (last few races of 2011 for which there were polls had a lower average). Thanks for voting!

It has not been helped by the fact that three races that almost always give us great racing were dull as dishwater this year. I talk of course of Belgium, Canada and Brazil.

It says a lot about the state of F1 when the race of the year faces an uncertain future.
