NASA believe they may have identified Achiaperelli' s landing spot following the discovery by their mars Reconnaissaance Orbiter of two new markings on the martian surface.
The Central spot is believed to show the parachute that deployed prematurely and the larger, darker one indicates the lander' s impact.
