2024 silly season

correct decision & this looks like the changing of the guard. with only 20 seats on the grid their no room for seat fillers. denying the youth a chance. if your a "veteran" ie bottas, magnussen, riccardio & your not at 7/10 most weekends. your in danger.

Isaacs Hadjar must be hoping now he will get his chance in VCarb or get F2 title hoping Bortoleto ease off now that his rival has a seat to improve his own chances next season

I understand KMag despite his Danish fans saying he acted like a rear gunner for Hulkenberg too often . Ricciardo it was obvious if he did not blow away Tsunoda he would not get the Red Bull seat

Bottas a bit I just on him given the car is awful . Audi taking a real gamble here

i might be harsh but F1 is as we know harsh business. i hate that F1 only has 20 cars i would love 22, 24 or even 26 cars. but bottas lovely guy, but sadly is a seat filler. agree the cars terrible but he's done nothing special hes still 23rd in 20 person championship & hasnt scored a point all season.

although im delighted RasputinLives isnt as active recently. im sure he wouldve had something to say to me :D

That image of Hulkenberg and Bortoleto is photoshopped at about the sort of level I can achieve. If that's an indication of the technical skills at Sauber then their 2025 car will be an absolute dog, probably worse than this year.

but yes I agree bottas was good i rated him very highly at Williams. was by far better driver than felipe massa & he deserved the mercedes drive when he got it but similar to perez.

but he didnt have the talent to have the consistency. to keep up & the pressure got to him. as he was saying some strange things

Bottas was never really that good. He did out perform some very average team mates, but when presented with a top driver for comparison was found wanting.

I think it depends on how you define good. Bottas tested, developed and supported a team and one of the all time great F1 champions. Was he individually a great driver in the way that we define great drivers? No..We can't deny he was an essential part in a great success story. There were plenty of chances to get rid of him and they did not - until they did - then the domination stopped.

You look.at every great F1 success and there was always a great number 2 (insert joke here)

Now of course he is pootling around getting a paycheck.avoiding having to figure out what he is going to do with his life. This is also an F1 tradition.

Bottas does not have a big sponsor keeping him in F1 like Nokia use to be at one point

Unfortunately that is the business of F1 once you go down the grid you rarely get a chance to get back to the front these days.

Amazingly Bottas is still the 4rd highest Gp winner on the grid actively. I think Audi have missed a trick in understanding what has gone wrong with Sauber now and need an inside driver input but also someone who has won with their rivals which surely would have been invaluable.

Should we read into that Bottas is better driver than Perez when comparing to their respective world champion teammates? Or simply the car makes Perez looks worse than he ought to be?

I'm not sure how well Lawson will do. Tsunoda had the better of both his teammates this year.

Red Bull can hardly be said to be a team at their peak.

I was just coming to say this. I really struggle to see what Lawson has done to deserve a seat in the team that has won the driver’s title - and why Tsunoda has been overlooked again. Red Bull would have been much better off signing Carlos Sainz, but that doesn’t seem to be their raison-d’etre (and I’m not a great fan of Sainz).

I do tend to think that Perez should probably have retired at the end of last year - after achieving the runner’s up position…
