It does seem like first blood to the Ferrari engine guys at the minute, because Ferrari have found some way to keep their sidepods about the same size as 2013 despite the cooling requirements whereas the sidepods on the Mercedes cars that we've seen so far look bigger.
sushifiesta the Fewawi Macca comparison really shows how much smaller the Fewawi air intakes are.
Either they have found a major engine cooling trick that the maccas missed or they are going to be over heating when it gets a bit warm.
These images were retweeted by ScarbsF1 and were originally obtained by slightly underhand methods (guessing the URL) from Sauber's website, so they are uncorroborated but probably the real thing!
The noses and narrower front wing are the first point of contact that determine the air flow to the diffuser though, they're a large aerodynamic change. The different cooling requirements also change the geometry of the sidepods and exhaust blown diffusers are now completely gone. Oh, there's also a completely new engine bolted in with no guarantee that the Renault will be a competitive package compared to the Ferrari/Mercedes.
There is hope at least.
Slyboogy I've never really understood why people are so crazy about that livery. It's always seemed a bit dull to me.
