We are here now at the 4th round of F1 championship. we enter the middle east phase of the championship. in Bahrain, a circuit the drivers & teams know extremely well 2nd only to Catalunya due the amount of testing at the circuit, it is usually the season opener as it has hosted the 1st race for the last 4 seasons & this is the latest we have come to Bahrain since 2015. the reason why Bahrain & Saudi are the 4th & 5th races in 2025 is because they requested to have the F1 races outside of Ramadan
As Crofty mentions annually in Practises, track's tarmac is British-made, with imported aggregate from Shropshire, England. Interestingly, despite having the fastest car, Sakhir appears to be a challenging circuit for McLaren. as if you Include sprint races, it is the only circuit on the calendar where they have not achieved success, as they have never won at Bahrain in its history. They were on the podium in 2010 on the extended Endurance circuit, but the last time were on podium in the configuration they will race on this weekend, was in 2007 when Lewis Hamilton secured his 3rd consecutive podium in his rookie season.
on the weekend 1 im delighted that its a race at normal European time & there no need to wake up early until november & 2 after what i described as the worst race since 2023 Hungarian gp & chinese gp that wasnt much better before that, Bahrain really needs to deliver, & carry on the recent trend it has developed to have entertaining racing, on the positive side things cant possibly get worse. 2014 & 2021 come to mind as 2 modern classics. otherwise questions that are being asked will only get louder. i think we are all waiting for the race where Norris & piastri recreate Hamilton V rosberg
