Pre-Season 2018-2019 Winter testing and car launches

Remarkable consistency again from Bottas.
Here's a snapshot of his last five laps: 1m21.1s, 1m21.1s, 1m21.2s, 1m21.1s, 1m21.1s.

I think that upgraded package is doing the trick

Interesting tweet from Mr Buxton

Check out @wbuxtonofficial’s Tweet: Will Buxton on Twitter

How genuine his tip off is even he doesn't seem to sure but alternative spec sounds interesting tactically.
Alternative spec. hmmm. Yes...interesting. There's certainly an improvement with the car they have right now. Even if it breaks down with engine related issues. From what I read they arre certainly still struggling with balance issues. Reminds me of this funny pic I saw. Quite hilarious

Two car concepts, that is four cars per season, just in case? Maybe Bottas doesn't need two cars. Only leading driver will want one. Another saving in the pipes. Excellent stuff. Maybe each team actually needs more specialized vehicles.

- One for Monaco.
- Other one for Singapore (topology is certainly different from Monaco)
- One for tracks like Monza (wait, is there actually any European race left on the calendar)?
- One for tracks like - something else, they will know.

Ferrari stands accused of sandbagging, when Vettel is caught liffting. It dosen't matter. No one is significantly ahead to signal that a season is over.

Here’s a clear illustration of how downforce can help you! Big differences between the top cars and the midfield on the entry to T12. Bottas / Seb are able to open up the entry to T12 after exiting the T11 kink, Daniel / Kimi have to go straight to the apex of 12. #F12019

"Watching at T12 now - Vettel looking very hooked up through here on the 16.220 lap. No surprise it’s the fastest lap of the test so far - car looks very forgiving on the edge. Even when it steps slightly out of line, Seb’s able to carry good speed, pick up throttle & correct it"

Expectation in terms of best lap of the winter testing, last chance in next few hours. Is here on this forum anyone who races or raced/tested in F1 or another high power series who could tell us, whether in his opinion Sebastian after 56 laps this morning still would be physically capable to improve his morning lap time? Publius could perhaps chime in and advice us, if he is around.
As it stands I think Vettel must be tired at the wheel after four testing days, and if there is better time coming on the board, probably it would be from another team. Ferrari is I think done for this winter and ready to move on. Goal for Seb is to simulate race length run+. (From Twitter.)

Is McLaren now out of tight spot and back in contention? I guess Sainz would be pleased to repeat his run for the top.

that is ridiculous proof that F1 money has gone too far. budget cap is needed to save themselves from themselves

Ferrari is parking in turn 2. Has Vettel decided he wants to get home early?
"If you're wondering what caused Vettel's stoppage: it was an electrical issue. If you're wondering if he'll get back on track: he will not.
Ferrari says the problem would "take too much time to repair, so this is it for today".
That means Ferrari's pre-season testing programme has come to a premature end."

I am probably a lonely soul believing that budget limit is a wrong solution for whatever problem they are trying to solve. I am still waiting for Liberty to define the objective. Spending less money is not an objective. It is just means how to achieve a goal. (I am not sure what that goal is.) There are hundreds of problems with imposition and enforcement of some financial limit, but that's a subject for another time and place. For now I would put it in terms of "great" ideas right next to homologation of new technology and control by tokens in 2014.
