Head To Head Nico Rosberg vs Lewis Hamilton

I've already said that I never questioned that quote.

If you have already said it then why the hell are you saying it again? Surely we are all now aware of your opinion. Now please go and think up some more opinions because you have been repeating this one for three days now and have had nothing else to say on this forum other than the other fight you are picking on the DRS thread. Did you not think when the mods deleted half of your posts that it might be to try to put an end to this? "Ignore" feature fully engaged. You can shout as much as you want but I'll have my fingers in my ears.

Hamberg - do you not notice something of a common thread?

Yes I do. The exact same posters are doing the usual and searching for the smallest hints that Hamilton is not the golden boy some think he is and exploiting it.

The situation was unpalatable for a number of reasons and understandable for a number of others. How it demonstrates number one status I do not know.

Lewis Hamilton: Loved by some so much they see hatred in those that don't praise his every move and hated by some so much they see declarations of genius in anything thats not criticsm.

Am I the only one that thinks Hamilton is a very talented racing driver and a nice bloke but just finds him a little uninteresting? I rate him over Nico Rosberg and even like him more than Nico Rosberg but I'm not about to get his face tattooed on my bottom but then at the same time if he beats a driver I do like I'm not going to start posting him letter bombs.

Team orders are team orders is it really worth the barbed comments and the closely guarded accusations we've got on this thread? Will someone not think of the Children?

Of you're talking about his character RasputinLives, I'm not sure any of them are any more interesting than each other. If you're talkning about his driving then I have to disagree. Apart from that I for one fully concur and like you I'll not have his mug tattooed on either cheek. Not that I'm inclined to have anyone indelibly festooning my butt with artwork of any description but that's a subject for the "What would you have tattooed on your butt" thread.:D

(allied to the fact that Brawn has historically run a driver 1, driver 2 scheme)

Is this really the case? He's been accused of subjugating drivers to "also-ran" status elsewhere on this site, but without evidence.

Wasn't Jean Todt giving the final orders at Ferrari? How was Brawn actively hindering Schumacher's teammates?

As for the Honda days, there was basically no need for orders of any kind. And unless you put stock in Barrichello's 11-3 drubbing of Jenson in 2008, it would be hard to say who was Number 1 anyway.

At Brawn JB found a sweet spot and came out of the box on fire. Rubens had no chance in the first half of the season. Despite his protestations I do not think he was given Number 2 status at all. When he finally caught up, and the title race was actually closing up, Brawn let Barrichello lead Button home on a couple of occasions.

As Team Principal I think it is quite a stretch to say that RB historically uses a 1-2 system.

Indeed. I'm sure that with his vast experience Brawn knows that there are many ways to get the best out of his drivers. First and foremost is the knowledge that two capable drivers will push each other if they are allowed to race. He will also be fully aware that having good relations and co-operation between his drivers and within the team as a whole he will minimise tension and stress within the team and maximise output. I'm also sure that, as the season progresses, the results of each driver will determine which driver gets the focus in the latter races. If a Mercedes driver isn't in contention for the WDC title I don't expect preferential team orders coming into play. In that scenario I would anticipate instructions to the drivers on a similar basis to the last race with the focus on bring both cars home with maximum points for team as a whole.

Pretty much all the drivers as far as I'm concerned.

I tend to judge/rate them on their ability behind the wheel, rather than inversely to how much air time their girlfriend gets.

Really Brogan? You've completely destroyed my vision of you as someone who likes nothing better than to sit with their feet up and read Hello magazine.

Strangely I too judge my interest in a driver in their abilities but I thank all for making sure that was the case. I think he's a very talented driver and he's been involved in some very exciting motor racing yet I find his exploits do not excite me as much as some drivers down the years have. I do not hold this against him though nor seek to destroy the pleasure that others do get and as you probably noticed I do sometimes offered a word of thought to those who in my humble opinion take their love/hatred past what I believe are the realms of realism. I accept that is my view though.

I just wondered if anyone else failed to feel the passion of love/hatred over Hamilton as do I or shall we call him Marmite?

Keeping on topic I have also failed to get excited by much of Nico Rosbergs career yet others have a passion for him. I can add Heidfeld and Sutil to that list too. Yet Jules Bianchi being three tenths off a Red Bull puts a big fat smile on my face. Maybe I'm odd.

Now if you excuse me I'm off to get Karl Wendlingers face tattooed on my bum.

Rather than some sort of weapon in a war I think its probably people speculating this is how Brawn works. Good speculation as thats how its been with every team he's ever been with. True we don't know for sure without him posting here but if we only posted facts and never speculated none of these threads would be very long.

Brogan

Hang on a minute! I know I'm being picked to pieces now, but all I offered was an explanation of why people may still be choosing to believe that there is a 1/2 driver system in Mercedes - as I say, I have no doubt that at some point during the season, there will be such a system; in Malaysia, since Hamilton was in front, he was chosen as the number one driver, for that race. That's not to say that it won't be reversed at some point in the future!

However, it is very difficult to argue that teams that Ross Brawn has been involved with have not employed first driver tactics in the past (Ferrari and Benetton); furthermore, it has even been alluded to by Barrichello at Brawn.... (But as I say, that is NOT to say that this is currently going on at Mercedes!)

My fiance told me we were going to have a two-tiered wedding cake and I immediatly objected as I thought she was asigning one of the cake tiers to the ranks of also run. She assured me though that the top tier is the one that is consistantly tastier than the bottom tier so it mafe sense to put that on the top if we wanted a succesful cake. It made sense to me so I stopped arguing about it.

With the Earth car!?!? Would we have noticed if there were any team orders? That thing was already being past by snails.

To be honest the speculation will never be answered because Hamilton will beat Rosberg consistantly anyways I reckon. I still think the one and two driver is something in Brawns mentality though. Not that I'm saying its a bad thing. I don't understand why people have the opinion that a number 1 status makes an acheivment any less. Their have been very few number 1s who haven't earnt it. Lewis has and Nico hasn't right now its just the way it is.

*shrug* I don't have any different opinion on the Di Resta/Sutil incident than I do on the Hamilton/Rosberg incident. If you can call something thats happened consistantly in F1 an incident.

I can see how it could annoy how some people do though.
