so basically you get £20 every race. so in your case using russell as an example
you can now bet anything from 1 - 85 on russell to win
or 1 - 42.50 on russell each way which means that he can finish in the top 4

what ever you dont bet will be carried over to the next race

it gets slightly complicated that because of 1/5 you could still come 4th but still make a loss but not as much as loss as you would if you bet to win

5/1 seems to be the break even point from each way better. anything below & you make a small loss 2nd - 4th & anything above 5/1 & you'll make a profit 2nd - 4th
