Well exactly but a GP2 would lap considerably faster around a whole circuit lap.

What's needed is a proper race of champions with champions from some of the worlds premier motorsport series, F1, Rally, Tin Tops, Indy, Nascar, GP2 etc etc.

They could battle it out over a number of different vehicles over a weekend to find the champion of champions.

Anyway maybe someone can come up with a specific thread comparing the performances of different machines with different demands... this is supposed to be a thread about the retirement of a Le Mans great?

After McNish retiring last year I had a feeling this might happen. An absolutely outstanding driver, with a particularly tuned feel for when to drive defensive stints to protect the car, but able to go all-out in attack when required. He has been a major contributory factor to Joest/Audi's incredible success and I have read that Williams and Michelin were highly impressed by his work as a test driver for them.

TK is retired, but still winning races and championships.
