Quite right, Brogan, I've just checked the 2008 Malaysian GP and I've factored out McLaren's grid penalties on that occasion. Therefore, I'm going to go with the standings at the end of qualifying - although I'm not sure a few of the drivers should have been in Q3!

Thanks for reminding me of my own rules!

Vettel is certainly now Qualifying World Champion, Hamilton jumps a Red Bull into 4th!

Final results give Sebastien Vettel the victory, with Lewis Hamilton so close to jumping a Red Bull in the final standings. Only Fernando Alonso and Sebastien Buemi have exclusivity on their team's points.

The zero point grouping this year is:

Badoer, Piquet, Grosjean, Kobayashi, Bourdais and Algersuari

For the first time ever, all teams are represented in the final table.

Note a calculation error led to Jarno Trulli being incorrectly remarked in the previous two tables.

Surprised to see Trulli so high in the final standings.
And the WDC being in 3rd place some considerable margin behind 1st and 2nd is very telling.
