cider_and_toast Yes I have heard of her (daughter of singer/guitarist Martin Carthy), although I haven't listened to much of her music. Perhaps I will try to make a point of listening to her more...
It's well worth it McZ. Angels and Cigarettes is her most modern sounding album and less traditional folk so it's a great starting point but they're all good. There is a great cover of Wild Wood on that album if you like the sound of Paul Weller as well.
If you've got 18 minutes of your life to invest, this gives a fantastic return. (Can't work out how to embed YouTube; it's Cat Stevens' live ABC peformance of The Foreigner Suite)
and, of a similar vintage (McZiderRed will like this one), Steely Dan's My Old School.
edit: oh, it's done the embedding for me, ain't that jolly clever?!
Only 391 views I heard this song on the radio one day coming home from a friends house because they play local music Sunday nights. It was so good I had to find it. And it only has 391 views. I guess it is the acoustic version but the regular version only has 2,000. And its not as good its complete stoner music.
Maybe. But I don't really have a solid basis for analyzing vocals or songs in general. If I enjoyed it then in my opinion its good. So he may have been out of sync and not had the best vocals but I still thought it was good.
