Sorry didn't mean to speak down of the glorious cycling.

Mo Farah, the great cyclist?

Nothing to do with the sport involved, but thanks for the flippant dismissal.

The sportsmen you listed, then belittled the achievements of were at the pinnacle of their sports, to pass it off as simple in comparison to motorsport is hugely disingenuous.

To reach the top of any sport, note ANY SPORT (im sure someone will say what about darts or similar) takes effort, commitment, sacrifice, talent and determination.

You make it sound like they have been dishing out knighthoods at the finish line of a school sports day.

Horse Racing

Yachting
All have more knighthoods (or Dames) than Motor Racing, which has 7.

Glorious cycling has 3.

And from the list i looked at, motorsport seems short on honours for active participants.

Horse racing also has 7. The yachting surprised me, even though there are some recognisable names and acievements.

Not sure if there is an easy way of comparing achievements across sports mind.

There are 37 knights in the arts and entertainment arena.

Not sure what it all means. Maybe we shokld all have one?

With the possible exceptions of Horse racing and yachting, the athletes themselves are far more important to their results than is true in motor racing, where the vehicle plays a very large (even dominant) part in the results.
