Too old to watch the Asian races live.

The great pioneering sportswriter (racing) and race driver Denise McCluggae has died at the age of 88.

Denise was one of the first women to take part in either field and showed great talent in both. As a driver, she won her class in such sports races as Sebring and Nurburgring, driving her street car: a Ferrari 250 GT.

She was close friends with everyone from Fangio and Moss thru Clark and Gurney and everyone who was anyone all the way thru the 70s. She was even rumoured to have been involved with Steve McQueen!

So RIP Denise. You will be sorely missed, and we'll never see your like again.
