Yes. That's sort of what I meant. Who's leading the championship, where in the seaon it is, who's most likely to win a fight for the championship. Going on past form it's Lewis. Might be different this year of course.
Also what's written in the contract. Presumably Mercedes can put their drivers where ever they want....not necessarily in an F1 car. Unless that's specifically written into the drivers contract. Lewis spent a lot of time last year writing and reading his own contract with just a family lawyer checking things over. But who knows what is and isn't in it. Rosberg hasn't had his contract renewed yet, it's just till the end of this year at the moment.
Wherlein's performed well in the tests, but he's still a rookie. I think things would have to be pretty bad for them to substitute Nico or Lewis for him when they're expecting/ hoping / likely to win both championships.
