It isn't the most important question before the season-opener, but still, should be interesting.
Added a poll so you can vote for your favorite. (you can vote for 3 drivers since there are 3 directors)

Current chairman is Pedro de la Rosa, with Mark Webber and Fernando Alonso as directors.

GPDA wikipedia

I'm surprised that it's PdlR to be honest and has been since 2008.
I would have thought it would have been an active driver, rather than a test driver.

I like this bit from Wiki: "De la Rosa wishes to step down after securing a race drive with the Sauber team ahead of the 2010 season; a vote will be held at the 2010 Bahrain Grand Prix to determine if he will do so, and, if he does, who his successor will be."

So they're going to vote on whether he's allowed to stand down or not :D

I've gone for Rubens, as the most experienced driver; Michael Schumacher, as the most successful, and Jarno Trulli, to represent the interests of drivers in the less-funded teams.

Whether the GPDA, thus composed, would run harmoniously is another question, of course.

I'm not so suprised its de la Rosa as much as current drivers have no interest in GPDA. I would like to see Michael as a director (experience), Lewis (young blood) and Alonso. (same reason as MSC)

F1 today is a lot safer than in the 60s but in 21st century, maybe they should focus on interacting more with the fans?!

Hasn't Schumacher just been appointed as some drivers' rep for the FIA or something?

Also, the test/reserve drivers should be in the list, shouldn't they?

Also, http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/82058.

Also, I think it should be mandated that the current WDC is the chairman - a bit like if you win the Eurovision song contest then your country has to host the next one.

It would be quite a big poll then LOL

It's just postponed. Two weeks isn't long.

Maybe not the chairman, but a 4th director. Its actually a very good idea.

Did Lewis ever join the GPDA? I thought Massa and Sutil were not members also.

The Chairman is bound to be Mark "Arthur Skargill" Webber.

The wikipedia article says that all 2010. drivers are members. I think Lewis wasn't a member in 2007. and 2008.

I've gone for current WDC, previous WDC and experience in Barrichello.

I think having the 2 Directors as the 2 WDCs is a good way to go.

Voted for :-

  • Webber - he likes to put across his opinion (& a good moan)
    Rubens - for experience
Schumi - also for experience *

* I would have preferred to vote for DC (but he wasn't in the list) because :-
  • he also has experience
likes to put across his opinion
    also likes a good moan
    has done it once
is no longer a driver so has more time representing the GPDA
Also & mainly he stood up to Mad Max in 2005.
