And of the new boys only the "fuel tank too small" team turned up!

Why does testing occur in Spain every year? Wouldn't it make more sense to run it around Brands since the majority of F1 teams are from the south of England or is Spain picked as between Maranello and Woking?
 
On the tyre front Pirelli are taking all four compounds to Jerez.Each car has a maximum of 30 sets of tyres for the test.
The medium compound has been tweaked a bit from the data gained at Valencia.

Weather.And Brands GP circuit is not FIA approved for F1.And subject to noise restrictions.

It's the heat, England is too cold this time of year and the potential for rain is... well you know.
 
OK, fair enough, although the rain thing didn't work last year.

If Brands is not OK for F1, why is it OK for F2?

Maybe Italy should be considered too, I mean they've got Imola, Mugello etc. That might be seen to favour Ferrari but when has that ever bothered them.

Funny that the Spanish F1 team decides not to turn up.

Different set of FIA regulations apply.Briefly run off areas, camber changes and many others.
These regulations are the main reasons for Tilkedromes.
