First American to Win the World Karting Championship since 1978. Apparently he is going to stay in Europe too so this kid may actually have a chance to properly climb the F1 ladder. A long way off, but a ray of hope.

I don't see Josef Newgarden in the list. It's a very long shot but he's young and competent.

I know I'm replying to a post from a month ago but nobody else has really mentioned it so I figured I'd clarify his situation if you were still wondering. I too think he would be a great option for F1, but under the stupid new rules he doesn't have enough points for a superlicence. His contract was up this offseason, and it was speculated widely in season that he would move to Ganassi and replace Tony Kanaan. He put an end to those rumors by resigning with CFH Racing almost immediately, and both him and the team seem very much on the rise in IndyCar.
