Felipe Massa

Brilliant driver on his day but is he championship material?

In 2008 he proved he was but thats only one occassion, plus that season the Ferrari TBH was a bit quicker and won more races that season. In 2009 he nearly suffered a career ending head-injury and since coming to back to the grid he hasn't really shown that promise he did in 2008.

Don't get me wrong he's a driver i very much like, but i do wonder if he'll be a title challenger again for Ferrari season in season out or if he'll stay at Ferrari much longer?

Whats your thoughts on Massa?

[trump]I have brains. Lots of brains. The biggest brains. Nobody has bigger brains than I do. A tremendous amount of people say to me that I have such good brains.[/trump]

He drove as if his career depends on it which it does. To little too late?
I'm always surprised, how athletes suddenly improve their performance when they are on the brink of losing their job.

I await the punitive outcome of that with interest.
If I were the sole arbiter such a vicious physical assault following a deliberate act of forcing another driver off the track would result in a lifetime ban from any form of (motor)sport within my jurisdiction.

You could suggest he had the smallest of arguments had he actually finished the race in the points in Singapore and lost the title because Alonso kept the win but we all saw Massa dragging his fuel rig down the pitlane. That had nothing to do with Crashgate because he would have had to pit at some point in the race anyway.

So, the courts retrospectively give Alonso a disqualification. The net result is that Rosberg wins, Hamilton is second and Glock now third. Hamilton still wins the championship.

yeah this is so sad, im sad that it came to this. hate to see him burning his F1 bridges over something so unlikely. but massa wont listen. it is own fault. if he had waited in pits & not dragged the fuel hose down the pitlane, he wouldve still won singapore.

then theres the british gp he had a 10pt lead at the start, but in horrendous conditions, hamilton won in an incredible display & massa was last, 2 laps down. if massa had even finished 8th out of the 13 finishers he wouldve led the championship & wouldve won the title on countback

The British GP is repeatedly brought up as a reason to beat Massa. Ultimately, Hamilton's performance in that race was remarkable, but has to be tempered with the fact that he had a much more extreme "wet" set up on the car than even his team-mate. (Which was why Kovalainen out-qualified him for the race).

The Ferrari was terrible in the wet at that stage, and the Ferraris had gambled on doing well in qualifying on a dry set up. In the end, the car was just badly set up for the wet in general.

yes with his 5? spin look a tough handling car

but is finishing 8th a lap & half behind Hamilton too unrealistic of a result to expect in the car that won constructor championship. his teammate came 4th. all that was ahead of him were drivers that finished 10th, 11th, 13th, 15th & 17th in the final standings
