Football All things Football

we are losing, fair play to Bristol city 2 chances 2 goals, clinical. but im quite pleased with that half. it great saves from your GK & last ditch defending. that stop getting a 2nd or even a 3rd from a few tap ins.

I need a hand full of tissues. "Clean up in aisle 2"

That's the Bristol City I want to watch. Gerhard Struber you absolute beauty. Liam Manning who?

disastrous 1st 5 mins 2nd half killed the game as a contest. but also i dont think ive ever said about a team that was 4-1 up. Bristol city's goal had lead a such a charmed life. im not sure how utd only scored 1. it was 1 of those things when its not your day its not your day

I’d hoped Norrington Davies could prove people wrong today & get back to his 2022 form, Sadly, it has only reinforced his reputation from that horror show against Cardiff in the FA Cup back in January. its sad to see RND level drop so quickly & look so out of his depth. when he was so good in 2022 pre injury. being the major reason for the 2nd 3rd & 4th goal

but at least this will accelerate the need to buy a new CB, as RND i highly expect will be out the door now

After the first 15 mins you had our backs against the wall for the next half an hour. It took some bodies on the line and a couple of quality saves to keep the ball out of our net that's for sure.

In the second half we tightened up some of the gaps. Your triple substitution actually made you worse. You seemed to go narrow and more direct which suited us completely.

Before the game all of the City talk was of how exposed we'd be on the left with our makeshift wing back Yu, who is an out and out winger who's having to fill the LWB role due to injuries.

Interestingly, all of your main threat came down our right where we had Tanner and McCrorie ripping up trees. McCrorie's goal has already bagged a spot on the end of season highlights reel.

For 80 percent of the game I don't think we ever looked truly comfortable but by Christ I was entertained which makes it much better than last season. We beat a quality side who will surely be around the automatics this season and that's going to give us a huge amount of encouragement from the off.

yeah i guess that was selles experimenting for later games. & that was quality free kick. you cant complain about that

thats why im not as gutted as i would be on another day we couldve been 3-1 at HT. but you were great & deserved the win

its getting grim at utd. selles is already in make or break territory i feel. sadly looks like david weir. the 1st half all style & no substance. im thinking what happened to the team 2 weeks ago & preseason that looked fantastic in attack. to a team that looks baffled at how to unlock an attack

then in fairness to Selles, the 2nd half was a big improvement as we finally carried an attacking threat . We were unlucky not to equalise 3 good Millwall saves, 2 efforts off the post & 2 cleared off the line. But you cannot be as woeful as we were in the 1st half and expect to keep digging yourself out of a hole.

I hate to say it, but after 25 years of watching football I know how ruthless the business is. Positive performances don’t pay the bills. Looking ahead, we have to get a result against Boro, because I can only see us losing away at Ipswich. If that happens, Selles’ job would surely be untenable: 5 defeats from 5 & bottom of the league.

You'll need to properly up your game to get a result against Boro. They're looks reasonably solid so far.
thats what worried me. by the time we started to be "dominant" around 55 mins.& should have got an equaliser

it helped that millwall stopped attacking, because our defending was still suspect. a better team wouldve been 3-0 up by that point

i forgot how much i enjoying seeing man utd lose. brought 250m off the bench 2nd half & still lost LOL
There was something absolutely joyful about that penalty shoot out... The complete inability of Onana to save anything - ok, so he saved one shot during the entire shoot out - but many of the penalties were not serious - and this could hardly be said to be a "second-string" Man Utd...

The trouble for me is that my lot have got a Man Utd keeper on loan and he's brilliant so we're panicking they may want him back which would leave us right in the muck.

the irony england have scored more v serbia in 52 mins than we put past andorra in 180

i would also this is the best ive seen england under tuchel. but then also thats like saying its the best ive seen utd under selles.
