Raikkonen knows that he is the number 2 driver but if he senses he has a chance for the win he pulls his socks up.

If Kimi pulled his socks up more often he could have won more championships, I can't see why he wouldn't have wanted to do that. Clearly he's not that bothered about winning most of the time, he just likes being there and making up the numbers, his move to Sauber next year is more proof of that to some degree.

Raikkonen managed to squeak one WDC courtesy of McLaren's mistakes. He maybe doesn't have that 'extra something' that some drivers have, but labelling him lazy or not bothered isn't fair I think. Why wouldn't he have wanted to win more? He did want to win more, just wasn't up to it.

In what has become an end-of-season tradition, Autosport asked F1's team bosses to rank their top 10 drivers, based on on-track performances, over the course of the year. Points are awarded using F1's scoring system (25-18-15-12-10-8-6-4-2-1) to help generate an overall winner. Although where on earth dud they get that idea from

i totted up the final scores & in almost dejavu of 12 months ago. Lewis Hamilton has retained his title & is still the 2018 CTA driver of the year. the voting was an absolute landslide. he took 318pts of 350pts available getting 13 of 14 nominations 12 1sts & 1 2nd. a few other mentions Leclerc finishing 4th on debut beating all 3 2nd drivers from A championship. Alonso surprisingly in 6th with 109pts. Bottas having a shocker not even in top 10 down in 12th. & finally interesting that of 4 non scorers 3 have left F1 & Grosjean according to rumours was very close to going same way
