On the assumption that he weighs something around 11 stones that would make him worth about 2 million quid so that would actually make him ridiculously cheap for F1 standards.
Sainz at Merc would make sense actually. Well it would if Merc are after proven talent, a description Carlos probably does fulfil. After all he did match Verstappen for pace at Torro Rosso lest we forget...
Also, he has also presented himself as a willing team player that will do whatever the team tells him to. He probably would be excellent replacement for Rosberg.
Bottas you know has been rather quiet so lets how long it will take before he decides not to show up for testing and starts sulking about missing out on a golden opportunity... he's been here before where a few seasons back Ferrari were after him
I simply don't think free engines will do for Williams because they are sacrificing at least one position in the constructors and possibly two in the constructors championship which cost them $10m-$20m
It was suggested that getting Paddy Lowe to start sooner was another condition to negotiate but he is not going to have an effect on this year's car
Have to say I'm not totally convinced by Bottas. He seems quick and consistant but I can't really think of one race he was in that ever made me go "Wow! That was a bit special"...
He can also bring a lot of money. Which means if Mercedes buys Bottas, Williams would make a nice profit, which they could invest in the car. And Maldonado is not really slow. So might be a win-win. Probably a better deal than Wehrlein.
Ecclestone should pay for a Maldonado seat. When it for dull with him around there was always a Safety Car to drag everyone back together because he'd run into a Mexican.
