Football 2014-15 Season

this is from a sheff utd fan dont believe the hype of us, as the media have seemingly forgotten about our defence. It was nowhere near good enough last season & theres been no defenders incoming so its madness to expect better defending with same defence (along lines of famous einstein quote) & we are a established league 1 club this is our 5th season in league 1. With Wigan Millwall Peterborough Barnsley Doncaster Bradford & a darkhorse that always comes out of the pack. people expecting us to smash everyone will be in for shock I feel

Delighted for Northern Ireland as its an amazing achievement l considering the team they have on paper to make Euro 2016 shows like Bournemouth how far teamwork can take you as 1 team will always beat 11 individuals, which is something England have lacked probably since euro 96 & great to see how much qualification means to N Ireland ROI & Wales (effectively) as a england fan I take qualifying for major tournaments for granted as we only missed 1 in 08 since 98 my 1st tournament

I am over the moon tonight. Having a scrumpy to toast the first championship title at Bristol City for 60 years:

Bristol City 2014-15 League One Champions.

Happy days.

Whats happening at Ashton Gate, easily best team in league 1 all but century of points & runaway champions last season in our league & yet you cant win a game for toffee now

Disaster of an off season. Everything we did right last year, signing some quality and getting the squad shaped early, we seemed to forget this year. I have got everything crossed we can stay up and then push on. The big question is if Cotts is the right man for the job? He's never really done well above league 1.

ah thanks as i you can tell i was confused, i would think that you got a chance of avoiding relegation because your 20th a pt above & this squad proved last season they could do as you nearly beat west ham in fa cup, maybe he fallen into the trap some teams do in the premier league feel they have to change formation because your playing higher opposition instead of sticking to what best

we have a nightmare so this year, as i said above i had big concerns that our defence was nowhere near good enough last season & there was only 1 defender incoming (only after we'd lost 4-0 to gillingham) so was madness to expect better defending with same defence, turns out they have been fully proved. its pretty bad because we need almost a complete new defensive squad because only 2 full backs brayford & wallace + 1 cb mcgahey as a prospect id keep. because mceveley is useless he makes mistake often but no pace he recover, collins is possibly now too old & not strong enough. freeman is no competition he didnt impress at mansfield in league 2 nevermind us & harris is far too inconsistent. & shrewsbury was nasty. never thought David weir final game or Fleetwood 2-1 loss back in march 2015 could be topped, but pitiful display probably has because that 10ish min spell from 1-0 > 1-3 can't remember when I was so embarrassed

Well I shocked to hear youve sacked your manager because ive said before I thought he might get time through hus success last season as they easily best team in league 1 all but century of points & runaway champions last season. Also you came seconds from knocking out premier league opposition on Saturday. But as with clough itd only when you watch/ follow every week you notice the problems pile up

Right call, wrong time in my opinion. He should have gone at the end of December, giving the manager the full window to fix tge obvious problems. Cott's blind faith in 3-5-2, paper thin squad, refusal to use any subs until the 88th minute of the game, loaning players and then never using them, never playing kids even though for a couple of games recently we've not been able to fill a full bench and abject failure to sign any players did for him in the end. Despite that, everything was fine.

I obviously not the right person to say this after clough last season. But with it being january id have thought give him til end of the season & after the success of last year with that league & JPT double only 2nd time in JPT history that feats been achieved

But I think you've got a good interim replacement in John Pemberton. Because back in 2011 which I cant believe is 5 yrs ago, he took us to our 1st youth cup final were so close to beating a man utd side that included future stars like Paul pogba, Ravel Morrison, Jesse Lingard & players that have gone on to playing top 2 tiers like sam Johnstone micheal/will Keane, Tyler Blackett, zeki fryers, Ryan tunicliffe, tom laurence & tom Thorpe, With just local lads from our academy. Thinking now it was quite David v Golaith

I would've thought this year was more consolidation to make sure you didnt go back to square 1 & I heard that in last 10 games since you appointed Lee Johnson & Rotherham appointed Neil Warnock, Bristol city & Rotherham are 2 teams top of the form table. Who wouldve thought that in December as if they hadn't have got the last minute equaliser v us. Couldve been sacked. Is playoffs too ambitious a target for you next season?

I would love to say we wont be playing you next season. But for some reason our season wont die, Despite it being an absolute disaster until about mid march you could have brightest minds analyse our season even they wouldn't understand how we are still in with a mathematical chance of playing in the championship. As we had a shocking defence Then about 12th March we switch to a 352 with arrival of baptise it shored us up mceveley almost look decent & now we got the fans/players in Harmony both giving 100% instead of at war with each other. Things are looking very positive for 2016/17 for 1st time 2011/12 I actually feel like we are favs for promotion instead of phoney bookies fav like this & weirdly id almost be happier to stay in league 1 because Id be looking forward to potential away days v Accrington Stanley & AFC Wimbledon

Gotta love Sheffield United. Only us could have a player who is hated by fans where biggest cheer is when he is subbed off. & then activates his permanent contract option only to be immediately transfer listed. must be a record LOLROFL

Is anybody watching the Eurocup this year? There are many British teams to choose from, including Northen Ireland and Wales
