So that still leaves poor old Giorgio Pantano as the only GP2 champ not to graduate to F1 the following season bless him.
Actually all the runners up in GP2 have all graduated to F1 too (although Bruno Senna and Luca Di Grassi had to wait a few years) so quite surprised that Luca Filippi isn't being touted for a drive more especially as he's now ranked the 30th best driver in the world or something like that and the fact that if he'd been in the Scuderia Coloni car all season rather than just for 8 races he might have given Grosjean a run for his money

Pantano..unfortunately for him failed to get Flavio to push him into F1 and it was at the time his own manager lost a lot of money due to Sep 11 from stock market crash. Old rival Alonso who called him "Invincible" was smarter in getting Flavio to promote him.
Flavio would take him if he was willing to accept 25% commission. Pantano was close getting the Jaguar drive until Klein with Red Bull came in with $10m and that was it. Then off course his turbulent time at Jordan where he was asked to bring £1m each race for the team which was more than what was required of Heidfeld in the other car. His family backed him but even they were feeling the pinch in remortgaging to do so and sadly Giorgio disappeared and its affected his chances of getting into F1 since
Despite being GP2 champion it was 3 years after he made his F1 debut which probably did not help
So with Hulkenburg and Di Resta expected to be confirmed with Force India in the next few days, we will have Sutil, Liuzzi, Buemi, Alguersuari, Barrichello, Petrov, D'Ambrosio, and goodness knows how many other drivers competing for two seats, one at Williams, and one at HRT.
