To be fair he must have had some of trouble though.

I can't remember where I read all this, it was in a portrait on some motorsport mag some 20 years or so, but apparently Bernie was a decent racing driver in the short time he raced. Probably not F1 material but he did have his moments in the smaller smaller echelons. He was apparently quite fast but error-prone.

I remember very clearly seeing a picture of him in the lead of an Formula 3 (I think) with his car in front of his pursuers... but pointing the wrong way around after a spin.

Anybody else ever seen that picture? Can't find it myself. It would help if I remembered what track, year, or car he was driving in?....
