A place to put all the posts from all the other threads primarily but love him or hate him, and even for the indifferent amongst us this is the place to discuss the marmite that is Lewis Hamilton, to learn a thing or two about his rise, talk about those controversial, genius or mad moments and something that i am bemused by, the recent articles that suggest something quite different to my perception of what's going on. Any experiences of meeting LH?

Brundle had to write a Lewis Hamilton article recently and in my tweets (which were probably ignored) I asked him to talk about LH the driver not LH the personality. It seems that you can't have one without the other.

He's tried some really sneaky tactics this year, has Jenson. Driving quickly, getting on podiums, winning races. This is the Jenson Button whose career was nearly ended by poor career moves and management. Don't start making him out to be some sort of Machiavellian genius.

Yes he was asked about Lewis' accidents and mindset, and he wanted to divert attention away from that because the press are making up enough drama about Lewis as it is and that's exactly what he doesn't need. He did a good job, unfortunately some people can only see the negatives.

Regarding his helmet design this weekend, I reckon it's to do with Bob Marley's song "No woman, no cry".

JYS doesn't seem to like anyone who tries to overtake. Ayrton put him in his place!

I think this was after the Prost-Senna clash 1990 Suzuka and JYS thought there was a suspicion Senna deliberately crashed into Prost.

Off course a year later Senna admit it he did it on purpose

You're talking about the greatest British driver and one of the legends in motorsport who raced in the most competitive and dangerous era in 1960s and 1970s where there was more chance to get killed in a crash

If it was not JYS campaigning for safety then F1 would have taken an attitude like Indycar to fatalities.

Had it not been for the safety work that JYS put into the sport I doubt that Hamilton would have lived as long as he has.

Having ago at him I said, not talking down to him. People who immediately spring to mind are Lauda, Mansell, some commentators, press,and less well known vocal people.People who really are not in his position and as Senna says are not the ones having to make the split second decisions, not the ones in the driving seat.

I agree that Lauda and Stewart aren't in his position, for example, they're triple World Champions.

What's happened to Hamilton's race pace? Despite still showing his speed in qualifying Hamilton his race pace seems to have been lacking lately. I know he's had quite a few incidents, but as such a talented driver in the 2nd fastest car on the grid he hasn't really seemed notably fast in any of the last few races.

Neither driver you mention is a current driver, making the decisions at this monemt in time. And once again...... I did NOT include Jackie Stewart , I said Mansell and Lauda.

But they had to make the same decisions about overtaking at an earlier point in time when racing was much more dangerous, so they definitely know what they are talking about.

Lewis surely showed pace during qualifying and at the Korean race, but surely something definitely was wrong with his pace yesterday at India...........puzzling when you consider that he qualified in 2nd place.

Really? Then why did lauda say he used to run drivers off the road? and why did he defend Schumachers aggresive weaving starts? saying its all part of racing; only to then say lewis will 'kill someone' with his driving. Doesnt sound like someone who knows what they are talking about to me.
And as Senna says the only one who can make the decision is the one in the driving seat at the time. As a three time world champion Lauda should know that.
