Wins rather than points

Just think, if this silly idea had gone ahead, Jenson Button would now be WDC and there would be little point to the last 3 races except to decide the WCC.

Let's face it, Bernie's lost it - this is the man who championed a change in the points system to reward consistency rather than pure focus on winning.

Now, ooh! Racing is getting boring because they're all settling for a points finish and playing the championship tactically, so we'll award the series on wins.

Do you think that he might have changed his mind in retrospect, but won't admit his error. Hmm, maybe he's looking at going into politics.

Maybe we chould have a steeply tiered points system for WDC and a smoothed points system for the WCC. Bleeding complicated, a total ar#e, but at least it would be a little better than his desires for "death or glory with reliability"

I much like the points system, I think the most consistently good driver should be the champion not the one who is a speed demon who either wins or crashes out. For example Terry Labonte once won the NASCAR championship by winning only 2 of 32 races because he had 21 top 5s and only 3 DNFs.
