Jonathan Legard still hasn't found the time to find out anything about F1 and in particular where McLaren found their brilliant idea:

Sauber weighing up whether to run their version of the McLaren 'f duct'. McLaren surprised. Took them 2 yrs to develop it.

My guess is if they are considering it they have all the necessary ducting in place, they just needed the final part of the jigsaw... the driver's knee.
