Qualifying Statistics #6 - Monte Carlo

Firstly apologies for lateness. I have spent the last couple of weeks on a Caribean beach.
I was going to advise you of that, but my PC developed a problem a few days before leaving,
and I was unable to post. The problem was fixed while I was away, but I had some catching
up to do and various real life jobs to finish as well. I should be able to catch up over the
next day or two.

Alright for some :D

Interesting stat's on the average starting position of the race winner.
I never realised so many had been won from 3rd and below.

Would be interesting to see how those figures compare to other circuits.
If I get the time I might knock up a quick table/chart using your data.

OK, this is a list of the average starting/qualifying position of race winners for
each circuit. This list was produced almost exactly four years ago, so the
data from mid-2005 to date needs adding.

Great stuff, thanks.

Keeping data up to date can be an onerous task, I know.
Luckily we have all the data from 1950 to present date in the database so we should be able to write some new routines to show this sort of stuff.

We plan to overhaul the database in the coming months so I'll look at adding as much stat's stuff in as possible when we do.

These are the circuits used since I produced the last list, updated to include the
Turkish GP.

For completeness, there were three races where the winning car was shared by two
drivers. In the previous list I used the qualifying position of the car not the driver
who took the flag. These were at Buenos Aires, Reims & Aintree.
