---- Indicates changes in track length and/or layout.

There have been 24 Grands Prix at the modern Spa-Francorchamps,
seven have been won from pole position (last was Räikkönen in 2007),
four have been won from second (Häkkinen in 2000),
seven have been won from third (Massa in 2008).
Five have been won from a lower grid position – Mansell (1986/5th), Prost
(1987/6th), Räikkönen (2009/6th), Räikkönen (2004/10th) and M Schumacher (1995/16th).

Average grid position of winners = 3.292.

The old circuit hosted 18 GPs and the AGP of the winners was 3.500.

Note: 2005 was decided on “single lap” qualifying. Since 2007 the grid has been decided on a three-period
knockout system. The "pole time" is no longer necessarily the fastest time set during qualifying.

Excellent stats, aas usual!

With all this detail and knowledge, and location, have you ever worked at Williams?

No, it's just a hobby. I used to work at the Atomic Energy Research Establishment (AERE) at
Harwell. Apparently Ross Brawn went through the engineering apprentice school there. My
wife's late father may have been head of the school at that time, although he started to
suffer from heart problems around then, so may not have been 'in the office' while RB was
there.

I'm typing this about two miles from the Williams factory, which reminds me, a few years
ago, Williams helped to fund a roundabout outside the gate, to improve traffic access.
Once finished they installed the usual roadsigns which say "Williams F1 Roundabout".
As soon as those were installed some comedian climbed up and covered the word
roundabout with a home-made 'chicane'. They also installed some 100m braking point
boards along the road.

I recently moved to about 7 miles further down the road from Wiliams and was amazed when I found myself driving past the factory recently, unfortunately I was confused and in traffic so didn't notice any "special" signs, but I did find myself on the look out for places to stop...

Oh they soon removed the offending signs. I've got some photos somewhere, how does
one post them here?

You can either upload them to a service such as ImageShack, Flickr, etc. and link to the URL using the tags
Or, just click on "Upload File" below when composing the post and browse to the file location on your PC.

Thanks Brogan. I could have figured it out, but I haven't got time at the moment. I'll try and
post them a bit later today.

Just trying to see if this works, apologies if they are huge!

Only about 60kb, so no probs.

This is what the unaltered sign at the other side was like.

And this was the braking point board, which had been knocked over by the time I
went to see it.

Those were taken in Feb. 2002.
