Current Lewis Hamilton

A place to put all the posts from all the other threads primarily but love him or hate him, and even for the indifferent amongst us this is the place to discuss the marmite that is Lewis Hamilton, to learn a thing or two about his rise, talk about those controversial, genius or mad moments and something that i am bemused by, the recent articles that suggest something quite different to my perception of what's going on. Any experiences of meeting LH?

Brundle had to write a Lewis Hamilton article recently and in my tweets (which were probably ignored) I asked him to talk about LH the driver not LH the personality. It seems that you can't have one without the other.

So as a starter for ten, here is a fairly recent LH article. Posts should not be limited to this link but it can get some discussion going. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/formula_one/13755883.stm

The only banned topic as it is clearly ridiculous involves these four things "Glock" "2008" "Brazil" "conspiracy"

Hamberg......Maybe you should read my postings before accusing me of making comments on Hamilton's career path. All I've said is he should have signed with McLaren months ago. All the postings on here, not just mine, about a move to Mercedes are based on comments Eddie Jordan made, reported on three websites, the BBC, Autosport and Planet F1.

Kewee I was referring to his pre F1 career path that you are assuming is all down to McLaren and them giving him a big break. I'm not denying he started in F1 with a great team, but luck into that he did not, far from it.

Also where did you get this from (not accusing you of being wrong just have not heard it before)
he was never given the opportunity to learn analytical skills regarding a cars behavior, essential skills when developing a car, which is possibly why he has problems sometimes. To be honest, going to a new unfamiliar team without those skills could leave him struggling in the mid field.

Alonso on the other hand is fiercely private and I think its fair to say only his family and very close friends truly know him. His reaction in the past when accusations have been leveled at him is to ignore it. In his words "i know the truth and that's all that matters".

This is something that Lewis can surely learn from Fernando.

The one thing that scares me regarding Jordan's prediction, is that he was correct about Schumacher's return.

I've often seen people write on here saying that McLaren need Lewis more than Lewis needs McLaren. Why? I don't see it that way at all no driver is bigger than the team there is always plenty of talent around to fill any drivers race seat, and the way I see it Lewis's options are limited to Mercedes or Force India, and as for Ted Kravitz saying that Lewis's management team are only using Mercedes as a bargaining tool, that would be a very dangerous game to play, McLaren would only have to invite another driver in for talks and let it slip to the media that they have done, and Lewis would be signing on the dotted line faster than Jenson Button's pole at Spa....

Maybe it's already a done deal and we are all being lead down the garden path, or maybe McLaren don't play those games and know that they have more options open to them than Lewis has, and so don't need to play games, or maybe it's like what Whitmarsh nearly let slip when he was asked how is Lewis feeling and he started to say I don't care about Lewis and changed it to something else mid sentence, mind you he was pretty hacked off with the tweet situation at that time....

Lewis may not be that careful in what he says, but the same can't be said for Whtmarsh, who is very measured whenever he speaks. Starting to say that, " I don't care for Lewis " hardly fits his character.

Even if he said that (which I haven't heard so I don't know if he actually said it) I highly doubt he meant it, he was probably still mad about that tweet (which is understandable).

Are you refering to the conversation Whitmarsh had with Brundle, on Sky, prior to the race?
Martin Brundle was saying something about Lewis not being happy & he added that LH doesn't perform well when he is unhappy...& Whitmarsh said I don't care if he is unhappy...........
I can't remember whether it was about the set up & old wing Lewis had been told would be just as quick as the new one Jens had...............or the 'much ado about nothing' tweets...

IMO....... LH is very frustrated by McLaren & all the cock-ups they have made this year incl. Q3 fuel, slow pit stops etc.....plus punctures & being taken out by Maldanado, Grosjean....... etc..........
