May they rest in peace.

Charlie told the story about Elio de Angeli's death a few years ago in Autosport and it has to be one of the saddest because not only did he perish during testing, he was actually ok when he crashed. Bruised but ok and all the marshals had to do was get him out of the car yet they stood there pissing about. When Charlie and his minions got there and finally got him out of the car the damage had already been done and he'd inhaled too much smoke.

Yes I agree if an accident happens and there is action that someone can take to prevent a death but doesn't for whatever reason then that is just unacceptable, and makes the unnecessary death even harder to bare..

Think there are missing a few names of drivers, Indianapolis 500 was also considered a f1 race.

Found out yesterday that at the start of the 1994 Imola GP, Pedro Lamy drove in the back of Jyrki Jarviletho car on the grid and a spectator was killed by the debris.

I omitted the Indy 500 drivers deliberately Bushi as, although for a few years it was part of the F1 Championship, none of the drivers in the F1 series took part. There are also a few F1 drivers missing who died in other series, the two most notable for me are Jim Clark, who died in an F2 car and Stefan Bellof, who died in a WEC car.
